Privacy Policy
BrushCoating is built to collect as little about you as possible, and this page explains, in plain language, what little there is.
The short version
- There are no accounts or logins.
- The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking.
- Favorites are stored only in your browser, on your device.
- If you write to us through the contact form, we use what you send only to reply.
- We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Browsing the site
You can read every page without signing in or giving us any information. We do not run analytics tools, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not use advertising or tracking services.
Favorites and display preference
If you save favorites, they are kept in your browser's own storage on your device. They are never sent to us, and we cannot see them. You can remove them at any time with the clear button in the favorites area of the comparisons page. More detail is on the cookies page.
The contact form
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. We use them solely to read your message and reply. Messages are read by the BrushCoating Editorial Team and kept only as long as needed to respond and to handle any corrections that result. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use your details for anything unrelated to your message.
To limit repeated submissions, the form uses a short-lived, anonymous, one-way scrambled network identifier. It cannot be turned back into your address, it is used only to slow down repeated sending, and it is discarded within about an hour.
If you write to [email protected] directly, your message and email address reach us in the ordinary way, and we treat them the same way as contact form messages.
Sharing your information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, but the small amount we hold is limited to what is described here.
Third-party links
Articles link to outside references such as museums, libraries, and archives, and images are credited to their sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Once you follow a link, their policies apply, not ours.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Advertising and changes
The site does not currently show ads. If that changes, or if we change how we handle information, we will update this page here and revise the date at the top.
